We have a long history in the Appomattox area. In the late 1970’s, Dick Bass and Ken Milton started Bass & Milton Construction Company. Bass & Milton built custom homes for over 30 years and developed a first-class reputation as one of the best home builders in the area.

In 2010, Ken Milton’s son, Todd, started Milton Construction Company. For the last three years, Milton Construction has been voted the area’s Best Home Builder by the readers of the Time-Virginian — largely owing to the long lasting reputation developed by Bass & Milton. In recent years, Milton Construction has begun to focus more on renovation work, providing a full array of home remodeling services including additions, kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, finished basements, and decks.

How We Work

When you call us with your renovation ideas, our primary aim is to listen well and ask questions to help us understand your desired results.

If it becomes evident that Milton Construction would be a good fit for completing your project, we will then enter the design phase. During this phase, we work with you to finalize details for your project, after which we will present you with plans and a firm price proposal for the work.

We strive to do as much of the planning work as possible up front, so that once the job is started it can run along smoothly and be completed in a timely manner with as few delays as possible.

Home Renovations

Some renovation projects do not easily fit into nice categories such as bathroom remodel, or kitchen remodel. A whole house renovation project can be as small as a few rooms to as large as the majority of the house getting major remodeling work done.

Milton Construction is qualified to successfully work on any area of your home – inside or out. We have a dedicated team of skilled carpenters, as well as a carefully selected bench of various tradesmen whom we have worked with for many years. We do not engage in putting our projects out to find sub-contractors with the lowest bids.

Exterior Renovations

Does your home need a face-lift? After many years of enduring the elements, many types of siding need repair or replacement. Milton Construction is fully capable of all types of exterior renovation work to your home. This work entails all types of siding, exterior trim, porches (columns, ceilings, and railings), replacement windows, and gutters.
